regarding the protection of personal data pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003

Here we use cookies to make our site easier and more intuitive. The data collected through cookies is used to make the browsing experience more enjoyable and efficient in the future.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent by the site to the terminal of the interested party (usually the browser), where they are stored to then be retransmitted to the site during the next visit by the same user. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user's hard drive or transmit computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user's web browser. Some functions of cookies can be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term "cookie" refers to both cookies and all similar technologies.

2. Types of cookies

Cookies can be first-party or third-party, where "first-party" refers to cookies that report the domain of the site, while "third-party" refers to cookies that are related to external domains. Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external entity, always defined as "third-party", not managed by the site. Such subjects can possibly also install first-party cookies, saving their own cookies in the site's domain. Another type of cookie is the so-called "Flash Cookies" (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver some content, such as video clips or animations, to remember settings and preferences. The Flash cookies are stored on the device, but are managed through an interface different from the one provided by the used browser.

3. Nature of cookies

Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types.

3.1 Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used solely for the purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service" (cf. art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).

They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into:

  • Navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access reserved areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
  • Analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, about the number of users and how they visit the site itself, to improve the site's performance;
  • Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) to improve the service provided to them. Prior user consent is not required for the installation of such cookies (more information in the Cookie Management section below).

3.2 Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web. For the use of profiling cookies, the consent of the interested party is required. According to the measure (more information in the Cookie Management section below), the user can authorize or deny consent to the installation of cookies through the options provided in the "Cookie Management" section. In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control of individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through the browser settings (follow the instructions provided below) or the sites indicated in the "Cookie Management" section. The User is therefore invited to check on the third-party site indicated in the table below.
